I am a poet, scholar, editor and teacher. I live in Queens and in the small village of Dorloo, New York.
In 2011, I was a writer-in-residence at Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona, my former home. I have received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, and the Frederick and Frances Sommer Foundation. With Elizabeth Clark Wessel, I edit Argos Books, an independent poetry press.
I hold an MFA in Poetry from Columbia University, and currently study mysticism and postwar American poetry in the English Ph.D. program at the CUNY Graduate Center. I teach writing and literature at Queens College.
In the spring of 2016, I received the Diane di Prima Fellowship from the CUNY Lost & Found Poetics Document Initiative, and am working with di Prima in the summer of 2016.
